Who We're Looking For

You are an experienced project manager who is comfortable supporting complex new multifamily development projects. You possess sound technical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to guide multidisciplinary teams toward successful project outcomes. You are motivated to support the regional housing industry, and are comfortable working with affordable housing organizations, developers, architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, public agencies, and internal technical specialists.

You have a strong foundation in multifamily construction and building science, an ability to learn technical standards, and the judgment to know when to independently resolve an issue and when to engage additional technical expertise. You do not need to be an expert in each green building certification program on day one. However, you will be able to translate complex certification and technical requirements into clear priorities, decisions, and next steps for project teams.

This position is primarily a project management role focused on the successful delivery of multifamily green building certification projects, including technical review, certification coordination, client support, and internal process management. You will work closely with Earth Advantage's field verification and energy modeling staff to deliver successful project outcomes. While this position is not primarily responsible for field verification or energy modeling, opportunities to contribute technical expertise may arise based on organizational needs and individual experience.

You may have opportunities to represent Earth Advantage as a technical subject matter expert in client education events, workforce trainings, conference presentations, workshops, research initiatives, and other industry engagement activities throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Role Description

Project Management: Serve as the primary project manager and client contact for assigned multifamily certification projects from design through final certification.
  • Manage a portfolio of multifamily projects pursuing Earth Advantage Multifamily, LEED for Homes, and/or other recognized green building and energy certifications.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, certification milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and deadlines. Ensure all project communications, documentation, and deliverables are complete, accurate, clear and professionally presented.
  • Coordinate certification services associated with affordable housing funding, incentive, financing, tax credit, or verifier requirements when included within the project scope.
  • Maintain accurate project information within Earth Advantage's customer relationship management, project management, and file management systems.
Technical Review & Certification: Apply building science knowledge and technical judgment to guide projects through certification requirements.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, product data, cut sheets, approved submittals, and other project documentation for certification compliance.
  • Understand the interaction between certification requirements, project design decisions, construction practices, and building performance.
  • Coordinate with Earth Advantage field verification staff to ensure required inspections, testing, checklists, and supporting documentation are completed at appropriate project milestones.
  • Collaborate with energy modeling staff to coordinate project information, assumptions, design changes, documentation, and modeling deliverables.
Client Support & Industry Engagement: Provide responsive, knowledgeable, and solutions-oriented support throughout the certification process and serving as a trusted point of contact for clients and project teams.
  • Support affordable housing organizations and project teams in navigating certification requirements associated with high-performance and sustainable housing goals.
  • Build productive, long-term relationships with developers, affordable housing organizations, architects, engineers, contractors, and other project partners.
  • Explain complex technical and certification requirements in ways that are understandable and actionable for different audiences.
  • Participate in relevant client meetings, conferences, industry events, and occasional project site visits.
Internal Operations & Continuous Improvement: Support the successful delivery and continuous improvement of Earth Advantage's multifamily certification programs by strengthening operational processes, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Assist in developing, documenting, and improving certification workflows, project management procedures, templates, and internal tools.
  • Identify recurring process challenges and recommend practical improvements that enhance efficiency, consistency, quality, and client experience.
  • Contribute to organizational knowledge by documenting technical interpretations, lessons learned, and effective practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated commitment to Earth Advantage's mission and values.
  • Five or more years of relevant professional experience in multifamily construction, architecture, engineering, construction management, sustainability, building performance, affordable housing, or a related field, including significant responsibility for managing projects, clients, schedules, or multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple complex projects, competing priorities, stakeholders, and deadlines.
  • Strong working knowledge of multifamily construction and building science, including the ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and other technical documentation.
  • Strong analytical judgment and problem-solving skills, including the ability to research technical questions, evaluate information, and determine appropriate next steps.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to work effectively with clients and multidisciplinary technical teams.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new technical standards, certification requirements, and workflows and to travel periodically throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Seven or more years of experience managing multifamily construction, design, sustainability consulting, building performance, affordable housing, or similarly complex projects.
  • Experience working with affordable housing developers, owners, funders, or project teams.

  • Familiarity with project management and document-review platforms such as Monday.com, Bluebeam, Microsoft 365, or comparable tools.
